Brain teaser of the day…

At a first look Godel’s incompleteness theorem seems rather disturbing. Telling a scientist whose career and also maybe the whole value system relies on math, that not a single the mathematic systems (or all of them combined) can fully explain the world, is as cruel as defying God in front of the most devout priest. On the other hand, this “evil” theorem indicates that mathematic systems are always open, instead of beng a perfectly closed circle, which could be exciting. At the very least, it guarantees the job market for all future mathematicians.
